Festival & event noise control

We have extensive experience consulting for a large number of multi- and single-stage events, including some of the UK’s biggest music festivals, and offer the following services:

  • Liaison with Local Authorities

  • Premises Licence advice and negotiations

  • Pre-event baseline noise surveys

  • Noise management plans

  • Site noise modelling and design advice

fixed plant, HVAC & machinery noise

We are well-versed in providing acoustic surveys, assessments and reports for fixed plant and machinery to BS 4142 criteria, suitable for submission to the Local Authority in support of a Planning Application.

These are usually required for new, additional or replacement plant and machinery, including HVAC units; extractors fans; refrigeration units; heat exchangers; CHPs and other machinery of an industrial nature.

environmental & planning acoustics

We provide environmental noise and vibration surveys, modelling, assessments and reports suitable for submission to Local Authorities to support planning applications, appeals and discharge of conditions.

On-going support is offered throughout the detailed design and build stages of a project, including building element and plant specifications, layout advice and value engineering exercises for mitigation options.

 

PAVA DESIGN & COMMISSIONING Testing

We have expertise in providing public address and voice alarm (PAVA) speaker layout design. Using room acoustics modelling to design and predict a new PAVA system installation speech intelligibility is a crucial part of the design process we supply.

We provide PAVA sound system commissioning and compliance testing for new installations or regular checks on existing systems. Many buildings have announcements and voice alarms including museums, galleries, train stations, public buildings, schools and universities, designed to achieve the necessary rating on the STI scale. Using the STIPA test signal and a specialist sound level meter we can provide compliance reports to the necessary national and international standards.
